Our latest re-designed safety covers comply with international safety standards. Accessing areas are fitted with magnetic limit switches and all moving parts are housed inside safety covers with transparent polyurethane. In order to comply with international electrical safety standards our electrical panels conform to CE requirements.

Okavango recently upgraded their flagship labelling machines with the introduction of their SMART monitoring package.

Overall equipment efficiency and preventative maintenance management is made possible with the use of Okavango’s SMART Monitoring package. The package consists of a 7” HMI screen, PLC, additional proximities and wireless 3G connection interface.

The system collects data during production which are then, analysed and graphically presented on the HMI screen. The labelling machine’s utilization and projected VS actual throughput are the output of the captured data. The data can remotely be accessed with LAN or wireless connection. The data are exported in Excell format which can be manipulated for reporting purposes.

Pre-start up checks, Machine Manuals, Maintenance schedules, and replacement parts are programmed on the PLC. The SMART unit prompts the operator when action is required, the replacement parts schedule can also be edited. Regular maintenance will increase the life expectancy of the labelling machine, reduce downtime and ensure that labelling quality is consistent.

MACHINE OPERATION

The Okavango High-Speed Labeller applies neat, precisely registered, overlap labels onto cylindrical cans or jars. The containers in a rolling position are fed by gravity to the machine. They are spaced and fed over roll gum applicators, which apply pick-up gum to each container.

The container makes one revolution to contact the leading edge of the top label in the stack. During the next revolution, the label is wrapped around the container. Paste is applied to the end of the label. The cans then roll over a seaming pad to set the labels firmly in a tight, square position. Thermostatically controlled, heated gum pot maintain the pick-up gum at the exact temperature required for most efficient application. A continuous label-feed feature, which allows the operator to replenish the label supply without stopping the flow of containers.

1. While in a horizontal, rolling position, the containers are gravity-fed through the machine.

2. Spaced containers are fed over roll gum applicators, which apply pick-up gum to each container.

3. The container makes one
revolution to contact the leading edge of the top label in the stack.

4. During the next revolution, the label is wrapped around the container. Paste is applied to the end of the label.

5. The container rolls over a seaming pad to set the labels firmly in a tight, square position.

REFURBISHING & SERVICING

We service and reset all types of roll through label machines on site or in at our fully equipped factory.

Rebuilding of Roll through labeling machines: When we rebuild a label machine, we strip the machine to the bone. We repair or replace all working or damage parts. When the machine goes out of our factory it will be as good as new.

SPARE PARTS

We provide parts for all roll through labeling machine: With a fully equip workshop we can manufacture most of the parts in house for the Okavango Label machine as well as other roll through label machines. We also stock a large selection of spares.

OPERATOR AND TECHNICIAN TRAINING

When purchasing a new Okavango Labeling Machine we give training to the operators as well as the technical staff. We also give training to new operators or follow up training were needed on all types of roll through label machines.
